Jus d'orange si vous plait?

If anyone has seen me recently they may have noticed my mild obsession with bold, bright colours. I think it's a coping mechanism for dealing with the dismal atmosphere in the library when its so nice out, my warped rationale that if I can't be outside I may as well bring some colour inside. While vibrant colour is having a big moment this season, I have gained quite an enthusiasm for orange, in fact I think it could be classified as a colour crush, I am utterly obsessed. So far, I have purchased a Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch, a Cos sweater and my Tory Burch shirt dress, all of which are some shade of orange, excessive perhaps, but each piece is adored so I feel its excusable, no? Anyway, it seems I'm not the only one who has jumped on the orange bandwagon, with Lanvin, Gucci and Halston all mixing bright hues of the colour into their collections this season. I like it paired with other bright shades, purple is particularly appealing or teamed with muted neutral tones like camel and beige. Its bright and fun and helps beat the library blues so I'm prescribing a dash of orange for anyone who's willing and able. Below are some of my favourite pieces around, enjoy!

Jackets

I love the structure of this Carven mandarin jacket perfect over any dress for a summer horse racing festivities.

The textured detail of this Tibi blazer is so intricate, its sophisticated but young. Perfect with the coordinating tailored shorts for a polished city look.

The relaxed fit of this Steven Alan blazer allows itself to just about any ensemble, tapered-leg, high-waisted trouser in an alternative bright shade of green or blue would work well here for a Gucci feel.

Dresses

This Acne dress is perfect for casual summer chic, wear as a cover up to the beach with gold gladiators or with beige wedges for an evening look.

Another darling piece from Tibi in this electric tone, I love the A-line silhouette.

A perfect a little shift dress from J. Crew to expose tawny limbs and that summer glow. Try with a cream blazer and ballet flats for evening elegance.

Accessories

Orange can be quite daunting to wear if your a neutral kind of girl so if you can't face a whole garment try some simple accessories for a touch of the bright colour. I like this Jil Sander belt, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag and Lanvin flats for a less overpowering take on the trend.

Victoria Beckham in her own label.

Drew Barrymore in Jil Sander.

Kate Bosworth in Proenza Schouler.

Olivia Palermo in Tibi.

Camilla Belle in Gucci.

My take on the orange trend.

Attempting to channel Brigitte Bardot in this 70's inspired Tory Burch shirt-dress pre Trinity Ball. Thanks again to Dargan Crowley Long for mastering his camera and mine on the night!
