The Wedding Frenzy.

Wedding Mania has gripped the UK this summer, from Kate Middelton and Zara Phillips' royal nupitals to Kate Moss' rockstar bash in the Cotswields, there seems to be a union to attend (or read about in my case) every weekend. With wedding fever blending into the summer haze, I've spent a lot of time contemplating what would I wear/have worn to any of the marriages this season. Whether taking inspiration from this season or next or just your favourite fashion icon, there are plenty of ways to look effortlessly fashion forward, yet appropriate at any wedding occasion.

The Fashion Wedding.

Ever since Alexa Chung was snapped in a tuxedo ensemble at last year's Met Ball I have been craving an occassion to attempt to pull off a similar look. There's no better place to stand out than your favourite fashion friend's marriage, whether you gate crashed Mossy's party or your best friend is editor in chief of some high flying magazine a tuxedo or menswear inspired ensemble is bold, brave and so next season.

The Royal Wedding

The antithesis of the fashion wedding, there is a strict dress code for the guests of a royal wedding and getting it right is no easy feat, just ask Tara Palmer Tomkinson. The general rule goes something like this, dress suit? Check! Phillip Tracy hat? Check! L.K. Bennett nude pumps? Of course! Dressing for a royal wedding is quite, well, conservative but take a leaf out fo Princess Letizia of Spain's book and conservative doesn't have to be dowdy. Vibrant colours with perfect tailoring like those seen at Bottega Veneta's A/W 11 show add a modern twist to the traditional royal wedding wardrobe. If all else fails head to Reiss, Kate Middleton's preffered one shop pit stop.

The Beach Wedding.

The colour white was such a massive trend this season that you would almost be tempted to slip into your favourite Calvin Klein Collection or Chloe inspired piece if you were heading abroad to some tropical paradise or magnificent villa for a relative's white, sandy, nupitals. But just don't. Nude, champagne and beige a la Lanvin will highlight your newly tawny pins just as well and you won't be accused of upstaging the bride.

The Garden Wedding

The groom and his possy look like the boys from Mumford and Sons, Avoca are catering and the decor is effortlessly kitsch. A garden wedding is Erdem personified, think floaty, lace dresses and retro floral prints to look perfectly pretty whilst sipping cordial and dancing to Cathy Davey.

Next up, a week of denim perhaps, I'm feeling frivolous at the moment though so who knows... x
